I had a friend to visit me recently who came from the USA and I really wanted to show him a real cooked roast dinner. I'm so glad I brought him to this place!! Great friendly service with a cosy atmosphere and so nice not to have music blaring through speakers, just to enjoy conversation :) the chef even went the extra mile and cooked a vegan special for me because they had run out of the vegan roast option. Lovely meal and wonderful selection of fruit wines. Would highly recommend this pub for its food and ambience.
A truly fantastic pub with a great selection of Ale's, ciders, wines, spirits and meads (Mmm, mead). The pub itself is very cosy with three floors, all small but full of large tables great for board games or just chilling with some good friends.
This pub is one of a very few to offer such a selection of drinks (especially in Northampton, which is dominated by piss-water serving skank pits), while also having no sports TV's or the typical dodgy music you get in most pubs.
This pub also serves a nice selection of food choices of which the staff are happy to tailor to individual requirements! And the staff are a great laugh!

We went there to give it a try, have something to eat and a few jars, loved it. Small cosy rooms, but on three levels, so the pub probably isn't as small as all that, though I imagine the queue at the bar must get big when it is busy. Lads were playing D&D upstairs and when I went down to the bar the barmaid was talking comic books with a patron. Folk music was going on in the basement. Beards are very welcome here.
Nice food, great drink, friendly staff. Had been meaning to try it for ages and now I wish I had done sooner.
